Portage Lakes is a community in Summit County, and is regarded as a suburb of nearby Akron. It is most well known for the group of lakes and reservoirs which highlight the area and provide recreational water entertainment for nearby residents as well as surrounding cities. There are many small businesses and residential areas located throughout the Portage Lakes area that have grown around the lakes. There is also an Ohio State Park in the area, named Portage Lakes State Park, and offers fishing, boating, hiking, hunting, and camping.
